Meet Sara

Sara Fougere has a passion for food – she loves to experiment and taste and then recreate menu items. Sara began her own catering business to combine her love of food with her natural ability to make people feel at ease. With Sara at your next event, you can enjoy your own party.

She specializes in creative food preparation, artful presentation and impeccable service. Sara has a degree in food science from the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She loves to use the skills she learned growing up on a farm in Richmond, Mo., to create fabulous food using the freshest and most available local ingredients.

Sara’s professional background includes 20 years in the catering industry. She served as a convention coordinator for a hotel and as a director of events and a catering sales manager and event planner for restaurants. She also supervised elementary nutrition and taught nutrition for the Columbia Public Schools.

As a food stylist for Inside Columbia magazine, Sara shared her recipes with readers and used her design sense to create food that both tasted great and looked great for the camera. Sara also worked to create specialty and seasonal menus for many different events as the interim chef for the Missouri Governor’s Mansion. In 2015, Sara was voted runner-up for best caterer in mid-Missouri by Feast magazine.

Sara’s at home “test kitchen” includes husband John and sons Drew, Grant and Luke.
